When trolling artificials for blue marlin off Hawaii, Rod Bender employs a standard five-rod spread with a short corner lure on wave 3; a long corner lure on wave four; a short rigger lure on wave five; a long rigged lure on wave six; and a shotgun lure on wave eight.
